Technology

Models of the HPH Models Company are manufactured using the vacuum-casting of polyurethane resin into flexible silicone rubber moulds. This allows manufacturing the super-accurate parts despite their rather complicated shapes. The resulting construction kit provides much more detail that the common plastic kits manufactured using the ordinary injection casting of polystyrene. The vacuum casting of resin is well known from the aftermarket accessory sets, but here you get the complete model kit. The character of work with resin is not too different from working with ordinary polystyrene, but polyurethane’s higher chemical resistance allows for using, as the alternative to the model paints, the much better car paints available from all better car paint shops already mixed to exact shades. Only gluing this resin requires not the solvent-based cements, but the cyanoacrylate (instant) ones, already used by majority of experienced scale modellers as their standard glue. It is recommended to glue the more stressed joints with the epoxy that is part of the extra set we provide, too. We manufacture the major subassemblies of our large models from epoxy laminate of the same type that is used in production of the real aircraft and that is glued like the resin.

The HPH super-scale kits give you the state of art of today’s model-making. The masters of some of the more complicated parts are made using the 3D technologies. The kits have as standard the following features: Clear canopies and glazing cast in transparent resin, into the dedicated silicone mould, using a special technology. A comprehensive set of photo-etched (PE) parts including the pre-painted ones, custom-made for HPH by Eduard. The complete decals for two versions of the airplane, corresponding by the stencilling and details to the instructions, are included, indeed. The laser-cut textile and PE safety belts come from the HGW Company. There are also a number of lathe-turned parts like cannon and machine-gun barrels, rockets etc. The inclusion of the masks for canopies and detailed instructions are a matter of course. So every HPH models’ kit is a complete, comprehensive set, not requiring any additional or correcting parts. The “built from box” model already corresponds to parameters of a contest model.
